Speak with Jarrel the Tamer. In pre-searing, he is in the Regent Valley, next to Master Ranger Nente. In post-searing, he is just outside the Ascalon gates.

Default Charm Animals

I charmed an animal to use as a pet. Now I want to get rid of it, and charm a new one. It died a few minutes ago, and now i cant even find the thing, but it still won't leave my party. Any help?

* To get a new animal you need to get rid of your old one.
* To get rid of the old one, you need to visit a pet (he's either outside of Ascalon or near the ranger who gave you the charm skill)
* If your pet just died, don't worry. He'll be alive once you get in another instance.
* Pets DO NOT show in cities.
* Type "/namepet" followed by a name to name your animal.

I don't understand how to get rid of a pet. You said that you have to visit the old pet? What do you mean by that? Sometimes when I'm adventuring it will show in my party, other times it doesn't. Can I kick it out of my party to get rid of it?

Merged these two threads as they were asking the same question.

If you want to get rid of your current pet, you just need to talk to Jarrel the Tamer. In pre-searing ascalon(the area you start out the game in), he's located by Master Ranger Nente- the guy who gave you the charm animal skill in the first place. In post-searing ascalon, he's just outside of Ascalon City in the Old Ascalon explorable area.

As to the question about why your pet sometimes shows up in-mission and sometimes doesn't, you have to bring the Charm Animal skill into a mission in order for your pet to come with you. Also, if your pet dies, you can resurrect him with the Comfort Animal skill, Resurrect Animal, or they'll automatically resurrect when you enter a new zone.
